Description
Town and country meet in this wonderland of outdoor activities in historic surroundings
Countless people walk, cycle, run and play on the red path connection in Assens. The path cuts through the landscape, like a pulse that creates a red graph on the screen. The Pulse Town Park is an extensive activity area that connects the green nature area to the east of the town with the port to the west. The route passes through the industrial area of Danisco’s old sugar factory, which now houses the town hall and sports centre. The Pulse also runs through the sports building with a red floor covering in the lobby. The townspeople can still sense the old foundations along the path. The structures are lit from below, so that the contours of the old silos appear. Townspeople are active along the route: like pulsations, the path has small digressions with ridges that appeal to the art of skating and balance. Children race along the marked out stripes when they are not drawn in by the basketball courts, the dance tent or playground. The Pulse gets your heart rate up.
